Healing &

The Medicine of God

God is your healer but you have to do your part. God cannot heal everybody, no more than he can save everybody. "Everybody," includes you, God gave us freewill, and God will not cross that line.

If you are born-again, and I hope you are, you will remember that even other people praying for you, even the preacher giving the most touching alter calls, even the things that your mother said had no effect, until YOU decided that you wanted to answer that call on your life. It was not until you took that first step, in faith, to reach out to God that He was able to provide you salvation.

The word "Salvation" comes to us from the Greek word "sozo" which means salvation, deliverance AND healing. The Bible says in John 3:16 & 17 "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be “sozo.” (saved, salvation, deliverance, and healing)

You must reach out in faith for your healing, just as you reached out for salvation. And being a part of salvation, whereby "confession (speaking) is made unto salvation, so is healing. Confession is made unto healing also. But what words do I speak?  Speak what God spoke in his Word!

Proverbs 4:20 - 22 says, “My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart; for they are life to those that find them, and health to all their flesh.”

The Hebrew word for “health” (marpe’ – a cure, a remedy, a healing) is “medicine.” God's Word is medicine to all our flesh. Exodus 15:26 reads, “…I am the LORD that healeth thee. The medicine He prescribes is His Word.

Many fail to receive healing because they are substituting belief in healing (mental assent) for the actual taking of God's medicine - His Word.

They say, “I believe in healing” without actually taking the medicine. In the practice of natural medicine, this is termed “non-compliance.”

 God's Word is His medicine.

Just as natural medicine has the capacity to produce healing so does God’s Word. It is the very nature of God’s Word to effect healing in your body!

Psalm 107:20 says, “He sent His word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

Proverbs 4:22 Says, “For they are life to those that find them, and health to all their flesh.”

Isaiah 55:10-11 says the Word of God will accomplish what it was sent to do.

The Word itself contains the power to produce what it says, just as when God said, “Let there be light ... and there was light.” Healing Scriptures contain within them the capacity to produce healing.

Hebrews 4:12 says, “The word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit…”

God's word is alive, full of energy…”

The key is feeding on the Word, feasting on the life and healing energy in the Word until it penetrates your spirit where it deposits that life and energy.

God’s Word is no respecter of persons. It will work for anyone who takes it.

It is not a matter of God willing or not willing the healing of any individual, but if the individual will receive healing by taking the medicine that produces it.

Medicine must be taken according to directions to be effective. Take internally; Take externally, take after meals, take before. Not following these directions will mean limited results, if any. Even the best medicines made must be taken according to directions, or they will not work. God's medicine must be taken according to directions!

The directions for taking God’s medicine are Proverbs 4:20-22.

“My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.

Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.

For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.” (KJV)

 Alternatively, From the Living Bible:

My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words. Don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart, for they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body. (New Living Translation)

You must soak in this medicine! Keep the printed words before your eyes always, the spoken words in your ears always, meditate on these words continuously. Immerse yourself in them soaking thoroughly. Get them in your heart!

It is only as they get in the midst of your heart and stay there that they produce healing in your body. Head knowledge (mental assent) will NOT accomplish healing. I cannot emphasis enough you must penetrate your spirit through meditation, hearing, seeing, saying, thinking on, and even singing.

When these words do penetrate your heart, they WILL bring health to all your flesh. That is the way God heals. Spiritually first, then your body. But you must take your medicine. Do not try to “work up” enough faith to be healed; faith comes by reading, studying, hearing the Word of God, just take your medicine!.

Take your medicine - Take it on schedule - Never Give Up!

 Your Prescription

 Exodus 15:26

“And he said, If you will carefully listen to the voice of Jehovah your God, and will do that which is right in His sight, and will give ear to His commandments, and keep all His Laws, I will put none of these diseases upon you, which I have brought upon the Egyptians; for I am Jehovah who heals you.”

 Exodus 23:25-26

“And you shall serve Jehovah your God, and He shall bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.

Nothing shall cast their young, nor be barren in your land. The number of your days I will fulfill.”

 Deuteronomy 7:15

“And Jehovah will take away from you all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt which you know upon you. But He will lay them upon all who hate you.”

 Psalm 91:9-10

Yes, because God is your refuge, the High God your very own home, evil cannot get close to you; harm cannot get through the door.

 Psalm 103:1-5

“A Psalm of David. Bless Jehovah, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless Jehovah, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits; who forgives all your iniquities; who heals all your diseases; who redeems your life from ruin; who crowns you with loving-kindness and tender mercies; who satisfies your mouth with good; your youth is renewed like the eagle's.”

 Psalm 107:19-20

“Then they cry to Jehovah in their distress, and He saves them out of their troubles. He sent His Word and heals them, and delivers them from their pitfalls.”

 Proverbs 4:20-23

My son, listen to my words; bow down your ear to my sayings. Let them not depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart. For they are life to those who find them, and health to all his flesh.

Keep your heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

 Isaiah 41:10

“Do not fear; for I am with you; be not dismayed; for I am your God. I will make you strong; yes, I will help you; yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of My righteousness.”

 Isaiah 53:4-5

“Surely He has borne our grief, and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions; He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was on Him; and with His stripes we ourselves are healed.”

 Isaiah 55:9-11

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain comes down, and the snow from the heavens, and does not return there, but waters the earth, and makes it bring out and bud, and give seed to the sower and bread to the eater; so shall My Word be, which goes out of My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall certainly do what I sent it to do.

 Isaiah 58:6-11

Is not this the fast that I have chosen? To loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed ones go free, and that you break every yoke? Is it not to break your bread to the hungry, and that you should bring home the wandering poor? When will you see the naked and cover him; and you will not hide yourself from your own flesh?

Then shall your light break out as the dawn, and your health shall spring out quickly; and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of Jehovah shall gather you.

Then you shall call, and Jehovah shall answer; you shall cry, and He shall say, Here I am. If you take the yoke away from among you, the pointing of the finger, and speaking vanity; and if you draw out your soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall your light rise in darkness, and your darkness shall be as the noonday.

And Jehovah shall always guide you and satisfy your soul in dry places, and make your bones fat; and you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water whose waters fail not.

 Jeremiah 30:17

For I will give health back to you, and will heal you of your wounds, says Jehovah;

 Malachi 3:6

"For I am the Lord, I change not"

 Malachi 4:2-3

But to you who fear My name, the Sun of Righteousness shall arise, and healing will be on His wings. And you shall go out and frisk like calves of the stall. And you shall trample the wicked, for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day which I am preparing, says Jehovah of Hosts.

 Matthew 7:7-11

Ask and it shall be given to you; seek and you shall find; knock and it shall be opened to you. For each one who asks receives; and he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, it shall be opened. Or what man is there of you, if his son asks a loaf, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks a fish, will he give him a snake?

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father in Heaven give good things to those who ask Him?

 Matthew 8:16-17

When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

 Matthew 9:35

And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

 Matthew 15:30-31

And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus' feet; and he healed them: Insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel.

 Mark 11:22-25

For truly I say to you that whoever shall say to this mountain, Be moved and be cast into the sea, and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that what he said shall occur, he shall have whatever he said.

Therefore I say to you, All things, whatever you ask, praying, believe that you shall receive them, and it will be to you. And when you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive it so that also your Father in Heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in Heaven forgive your trespasses.

 Mark 16:17-18

And miraculous signs will follow to those believing these things: in My name they will cast out demons; they will speak new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt them. They will lay hands on the sick, and they will be well.

 Luke 4:17-19

And the book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. And unrolling the book, He found the place where it was written, "The Spirit of the Lord is on Me; because of this He has anointed Me to proclaim the Gospel to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim deliverance to the captives, and new sight to the blind, to set at liberty those having been crushed, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord."

And now, Lord, behold their threatenings, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your Word, by stretching forth of Your hand for healing, and miracles, and wonders may be done by the name of Your holy child Jesus.

 Acts 5:15-16

So as to carry out the sick into the streets and place them on cots and mattresses, so that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them. And also a multitude came from the cities around Jerusalem, bringing sick ones, and those being tormented by unclean spirits, who were all healed.

 Acts 10:38

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

 James 5:13-16

Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will cure the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up. And if he has committed sins, it will be forgiven him.

Confess faults to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous one avails much.

 1 John 5:14-15

And this is the confidence that we have toward Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.

Beloved, in regard to all things I pray that you prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.
