She touched him in faith and with determination.”
I love this precept from the Bible. If you study a little about the
problem she suffered, and Jewish Law, you learn that she was in dire
circumstances. Even for the normal menstrual cycle a woman was
declared “unclean” and was limited in what she could do, where she
could go, where she could sit, where she could lay, and even whom
she could touch. This woman had the problem for 12 years! She has
spent all her money on doctors, but was not cured. (The Gospel of
Luke doesn’t mention the doctors, because
Broke, not able to work because
of her “uncleanness” most likely homeless, she has probably sat
along the streets and heard of the miracles She knew touching anybody, could easily have meant death by stoning. People like her were required to walk the street shouting “UNCLEAN, UNCLEAN” so others would know to avoid her, “least they become unclean in their selves.” BUT - “She said within herself, “If I can but touch the hem of his garment, I shall be made whole.” She muscled her way through the crowd,
obviously touching many people, and touched the hem of And I do love this next part! He looked down
